Welcome to ST. MARK
Religious Education

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE:

With news of the spreading coronavirus and its possible impact on schools, we want to provide you with the most recent information at our disposal.
The Office of Faith Formation and Catholic Schools continues to monitor the coronavirus outbreak and is following the recommendations of the Virginia Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).   Both agencies have the most up-to-date and accurate information, and send regular updates to the DRE, School Nurse and Principal regarding healthcare concerns related to the coronavirus.  If these agencies recommend any specific actions we need to take to ensure the health of all in our school and Religious Education programs, we will pass that information on immediately.
As per the recommendations of the Health department and CDC, the best way to prevent the spread of this and any illness is to wash your hands frequently, cough or sneeze into the crease of your elbow or use a tissue, and stay home if you are sick.  We also wipe down the desks and commonly used areas frequently.  A contingency education plan is in place, and in the event schools or Religious Education Programs need to close for an extended period of time, parents will be sent all necessary information to ensure learning continues.
The CDC has recognized stigmatization may occur around coronavirus, and in response has developed a webpage offering guidance and countering the stigma.  Please help us prevent stigmatization by becoming familiar with the facts about the coronavirus.  www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/related-stigma.html
If you or anyone close to you is diagnosed with the coronavirus, please inform Jean Lupinacci, Director of Faith Formation.  Health care workers are required to report cases to the Health Department and the CDC.
