Adult Faith Formation – “Living as Missionary Disciples”

Adult Faith Formation Opportunities—2017/18 – join either a short term or long term group! 

The Parish Mission is scheduled for February 25-27, 2018 and will be led by Fr. Paul McCarren.  Session One will be Sunday night and repeated Monday morning. Session Two will be Monday night and repeated Tuesday morning. Stay tuned for more information in the bulletin and the Maneline Newsletter.

Little Rock Scripture Study: The Acts of the Apostles will be studied beginning Tuesday October 3, 2017 at 10:00am and ending on November 14, 2017. The Gospel of Mark will be studied beginning on February 2 at 10am on Fridays.

The Book of Revelation: Part II of Dr. Scott Hahn’s “The End” will be used to study The Book of Revelation beginning on Thursday, September 21 at 7:30pm and ending on November 9, 2017. Part III will take place during LENT 2018.

Lord Teach me to Pray: Groups are forming for all three parts of this Ignatian Spirituality Group starting in September 2017. Days/times will be determined, depending on interest levels.

Sunday Morning Program Presentations: We will focus on the theme of “Living as Missionary Disciples”. We are currently scheduling sessions for the fall, including a 4-part series presented by Christians in Commerce titled “Working for Our Father”, a session on the Psalms and one on The Gospel of Mark.  Click HERE for more details.

Book Clubs:

  1. One group meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month, September through May at 1:15pm in Room C-104. The January 2018 book will be The Franciscan Heart of Thomas Merton by Daniel Horan. The February 2018 book will be The Ninth Hour by McDermott.
  2. The Spiritual Classics group (led by Fr. Paul) meets the 3rd Sunday of the month at 5pm in the Chapel. This group is currently reading St. Francis of Assisi by G.K. Chesterson.

Cursillo Weekends: The Cursillo is an opportunity to examine and celebrate yourself, your relationship with Christ and your relationship with the Christian community. The dates of the upcoming men’s and women’s weekend for Spring 2018 are TBD. Please go to the Cursillo website to get up to date information about Cursillo dates. After the Cursillo weekend you meet with other ST. MARK Cursillistas for a weekly reunion.
