Religious Education

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now open.

Welcome back, Religious Education families!  We have missed you!!  Please read the information below about registering your child/children for ST. MARK Religious Education for the 2021-2022 school year.  Classes begin on September 19 and continue through May 1; click here for a printable calendar.

Option 1 for Grades 1-8: In-person class on Sunday mornings only from 9:30-10:45am.  This is the preferred option, especially for those children in grades 1-2 and 7-8 who are preparing for Sacraments.

Option 2 for Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6: A homeschool curriculum using My Catholic Faith Delivered.  With some assistance from parents, a child will progress through the lessons using an online platform.  The Director of Religious Education will monitor your child’s progress.

Early registration runs through August 20.  The rates for registered parishioners are as follows:

  • One child            $125
  • Two children      $200
  • Three children   $275
  • Four+ children  $350
  • Late fee                $35 per family
    (after 8/20)

For those not registered as parishioners, the fee is $300 per child.

There are also sacramental administrative fees as follows:

  • 2nd grade           $25 (Penance and Eucharist workshop fees)
  • 7th grade            $30 (Day retreat fee – Spring 2022)
  • 8th grade            $230 ($215 Fall weekend retreat fee + $15 robe fee)

Other Notes:

  1. Please read our Policies and Procedures here.  You will be asked to acknowledge these during the registration process.
  2. The Sunday Adult Faith Formation Program is scheduled to return in November 2021.  We ask all parents (especially those who have children in Sacramental Preparation years – grades 1, 2, 7 and 8) to either volunteer for Religious Education (see below) or participate in some type of Faith Formation.  There are also Adult Faith Formation options available during other times: for example, Alpha, Bible Study, Christians in Commerce, etc.
  3. If you wish to volunteer instead of participating in Adult Faith Formation, you will find a list of your options here.  If you would like to be a catechist, please also indicate that in the “Additional Comments” section of the registration page.
  4. Due to space and health/safety considerations, there will be no breakfast served this year.
  5. Finally, we expect that all children enrolled in Religious Education attend Sunday Mass.  The Bishop removed Mass dispensation as of June 26, 2021. Mass at ST. MARK is available on Saturday at 5:30pm and Sunday at 9am and 11am.  Attending the 11am Mass will be a convenient option for families with children attending Religious Education classes.
